It's obvious that Greg's next move will be to try and tell Connie that she couldn't have seen Elly's breakdown coming. This, while well-meaning, is bound to fail because Connie assumes a bond that isn't as close as she believes it to be. Perhaps Wilf can share his experiences with her and reassure her that this isn't her fault.
