Life Goes On

Well, I finally get to draw Candace's little Sophia.

A blog note ... it might be because I'm a bit busy this summer, although I mostly think it's because I see the Foob's Paradise characters as well on their way to achieving something other than the wrap-up mess of the "strip of destiny", but I see threads as coming together, not as expanding into more stories for much longer. Foob's Paradise isn't over yet, but I don't see an indefinite future in front of it.

Springtime for Foobville X

Nothing much to say except that of course Candace would have a pregnancy fashion style all her own. And I do seem to draw in Nanaimo bars where sweets are called for quite a bit, don't I?

Oct 21 Two-fer

I decided to upload both at once to get Liz' whole reaction.

This is the only way I think Rudy and Candace would ever get married. I just wish I could draw finger-quoting Candace a bit better.

Background crowds: still 10 times easier than the strip regulars...

Oct 20: They have malls in Milborough, don't they?

OK, raise your hands, everyone who thought Candace's old hairstyle was flattering ... uh-huh. Yup. Thought so.

The crowd scene shows one of those interesting / frustrating things in my doodles. Those people with faces / expressions? Much easier to draw than the main characters. The pencil just does a line, and, OK, it works with that type of face. The kid on the bottom left was a good winter hat, followed by "maybe these eyes would work". The mother's hairstyle just flowed. Getting a pose and desired face style is obviously harder. Elizabeth in pseudo-panel 3 had a head that just worked in a couple of pencil strokes, but that's rare (and she's more cartoony than usual).
